TIPS ON CHOOSING A GUIDE

TIPS ON CHOOSING A GUIDE

Choosing a Fishing Guide can be a very bewildering experience.  There are lots of guides out there.  Some are very good at what they do, but many have little or no experience fishing this area.  As the saying goes; "You get what you pay for."

My advice when looking at websites is LOOK AT THE PICTURES!   Are there good trout, redfish and drum stringers?  Do they fish a variety of bays?  How long have they been fishing?   How long have they been fishing THIS area?  I have seen lots of guides come and go over the years trying to make a living fishing. To be a good guide is tough, and it has be in your blood.

Are they USCG certified?  Are they Texas Parks and Wildlife licensed? Any professional guide will be happy to show you their credentials.

Anyone can catch fish when the fishing is good.  I take a lot of pride in that for over 25 years I very seldom miss putting my clients on a decent stringer of fish!

TIPS ON CHOOSING A GUIDE

FISHING TIME

Our private fishing charters average 7 to 8 hours from boarding to the filleting of your fish...It's not only about catching your limit and racing back to the dock...its about spending a beautiful day out on the water.   Depending on the time of year and what fish are biting determines what our catch will be, and if the bite is slow, Captain Charlie does not give up and will stay out longer to get you some fish!

WHAT I PROVIDE

Live bait, Dead bait, and Lures.  Lifejackets, Shimano Rods and Reels,  (baitcasters and spinners), Large cooler with ice (or you can bring your own) Fillet and packaging of fish.

WHAT YOU BRING

Fishing license with saltwater stamp, sunscreen, hats, camera, sunglasses, snacks, lunch & drinks (alcohol is allowed), cooler to transport fish fillets home, appropriate dress for weather and bring a jacket; it's cooler on the water!
